Handshake Inc., is an independent film and music production company and record label specializing in the sights and sounds of the underground. Formed in 2006 by David Hall, Handshake Inc., has produced videos for Fuck the Facts, Sigh, Hail of Bullets, Jucifer, Bastard Noise, Today is the Day and Maruta. Handshake’s film credits include “Axis of Eden: The Feature Film,” “Disgorge, Mexico the Movie,” “Maryland Deathfest: the Movie,” “Maryland Deathfest: the Movie II,” and “Sexually Frustrated Satanic Landscapes,” – a film Today is the Day toured Europe and North America with. Films Currently in post-production include “Maryland Deathfest: the Movie 2.5,” “Untitled Brutal Truth Documentary,” and “The Executioniz Comes Tomorrow: Jucifer Live at Call the Office.” Handshake is also currently in production on a documentary about famed underground music engineer Billy Anderson and a concert film for Wolves in the Throne Room.
In September 2011, David Hall was joined by Catharsis PR founder Kim Kelly and Grindcore Kareoke/Agoraphobic Nosebleed mainman J Randall in the formation of Handshake Inc., the record label. With distribution and support from Sony Red and Megaforce Records, Handshake Inc will be releasing a hand-picked selection of choice underground and extreme bands on vinyl and digital formats only. Handshake Inc.’s first release as a label will be Sulaco’s “Build and Burn.” Mixed by Neil Kernon and mastered by Alan Douches, the record is a post-grind-sludge-prog masterpiece that will see an official vinyl release on Oct 25th. The next two physical releases will be albums selected by J Randall – Surachai’s “To No Availl,” – an electro us black metal opus – and Ladder Devils’ “Forget English” – a blistering post-hardcore, post-indie rock/noise/post-metal(?) ep.
